1. What is collected, and how
- Recordings, and metadata such as file name, date, length and size, are stored on the device only. Nothing is uploaded automatically.
- Transcription runs in an on-device engine (Vosk). Audio is not sent anywhere.
- The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and transmit device information, including the advertising ID, in order to serve ads. This follows each provider's own policy.
- Cloud export uploads the files you select to Google Drive, Dropbox and similar services, and only when you ask it to. Authentication uses each service's official mechanism; we do not store tokens on any server of ours.
2. Purpose of use
- To provide recording, visualisation, playback, transcription, sharing and cloud export
- To serve ads, which is what keeps the app free
3. Disclosure to third parties
We do not disclose data to third parties at our discretion. The exceptions are a legally binding request for disclosure, an emergency where life or property must be protected, and a transfer of the business (with appropriate safeguards in place).
4. What leaves the device
- Ads: Google Mobile Ads (advertising ID and similar)
- Cloud: the files you choose, uploaded to Google Drive or Dropbox
- How each company handles that data is governed by its own privacy policy and terms.
5. Why each permission is requested
- RECORD_AUDIO: to record audio
- READ_MEDIA_AUDIO and similar: to read, write and share recordings
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: to show that recording is in progress
- READ_PHONE_STATE: to react to incoming calls
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE: to keep recording in the background
- BLUETOOTH_CONNECT: to use an external microphone
- MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS: to control input routing and audio processing
- INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: for ads and cloud export
6. How long data is kept
- Files on the device: until you delete them
- Cloud authentication: until you disconnect the service or remove the app
- Nothing is kept on our servers. We do not include crash reporting or similar collection SDKs.
7. Safeguards
- Files are kept in scoped storage on the device
- Permissions are requested at a minimum and stay under your control — grant, deny, disconnect or delete
8. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children, and follows the ad providers' policies on age-appropriate delivery.
9. Your choices
- Permissions can be revoked from the system settings at any time
- Disconnecting cloud services or uninstalling the app ends the processing of your data
